The South Fork Rifle Club will host the area, NRA Conventional Pistol, Sectional Match. This match will be fired on Saturday, February 11, 2012. As of July 1, 2008 it is no longer mandatory, but competitors are encouraged, to be members of the NRA to compete in this match. This match is a registered tournament by the NRA and all scores fired will be reported to the NRA and will appear in the NRA annual report.

 

This match will consist of four separate matches; all to fired with .22 cal. pistols and ammunition. Match #1, 20 rounds Slow Fire. 10 rounds in 10 minutes. Match #2, National Gallery Course. Match #3, 20 rounds Timed Fire, 4 strings of 5 rounds in 20 seconds. Match #4, 20 rounds of Rapid Fire, and 4 strings of 5 rounds in 10 seconds. Match #5 is the 90 shot Aggregate. All matches will be fired in succession without breaking to score. Scoring will be done after completion of the entire relay. Competitors will score the shooter to his or her left. Scoring gauges (i.e. eagle eye, and overlays) will be permitted for use by the scorer. Range officials ONLY, will use plug type gauges. Competitors will be required to use of Empty Chamber Indicators in all weapons on the firing line.

 

There will be a team match fired after the Individual Matches are fired. It is not a requirement that all shooters fire this match. There must be 4 firing members for each team; this is not a paper match. An additional fee will be collected to fire the team match. Team members will not be required to fire on the same relay as there other team members, but the team score sheet must remain with range personnel until entire team has fired and are scored.

 

All competitors will be classified according to the NRA classification system. Classification cards or temporary score books may be used to determine classification of shooters. Competitors will exhibit classification cards or temporary scorebooks upon request of range personnel. If a shooter has no classification he will be required to compete as an unclassified master shooter. If there are 5 or more shooters determined to be unclassified there will be a separate category for them. This category will be used at the local level only. Shooters who have temporary classifications for at least 2 previous sanctioned matches or from sanctioned league scores will be placed into the appropriate class pending review of documentation.

 

Categories such as Police, Service, and Civilian will be used. If there are fewer than 4 competitors in any category those shooters will be combined with other competitors of the same class.

 

High Master shooters will not be combined with shooters of another class. If there are fewer than 5 High Master shooters entered, those shooters will compete for open awards only.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Awards will be given according to the number of shooters within a specific class and or category. An award will be given for each 5 shooters in any class and or category. First place for 5 shooters, second place for 10 shooters etc. If there are fewer than 5 shooters in any class, except Master class, they will be combined into the next higher class. Open awards will be awarded to the high score no matter how many shooters are in a class or category. Open winners will not be eligible for class awards in that match. The next lower score will receive that class award. All awards will be NRA points. The NRA will supply a Gold medal for first place, a Silver medal for second place, and a Bronze medal for third place regardless of class or category. In addition 15 NRA points will be awarded for first place, 10 NRA points for second place, and 5 NRA points for third place.

 

Match fees will be $25.00 per individual entry. Fee for the team will be $20.00 per team. These fees will be used to cover NRA registration, targets, club costs, and awards.

After this date no additional relays will be scheduled. There will be no pre-registration required but if there is a cancellation please do so by phone to the contact person. Do not bring other shooters without contacting the club. You can substitute a shooter if there is a cancellation in your group, but space is limited to 8 shooters per relay, so call first.
